Who is Spain coach?

Luis de la Fuente is the latest man to try to emulate the great Spain coaches of the past and bring more glory to his nation. After taking charge of La Liga side Athletic Club's B team for a number of years, De la Fuente joined the Spain set-up in 2013, gradually progressing through the ranks to coach the U19, U21 and U23 teams before being given the senior job in December 2022.

A magical, mercurial talent, Yamal is huge fun whether you support La Roja or not. He turns 17 the day before the EURO final but comes into the tournament with six caps, two goals and two assists for Spain. He has played over 50 times for club and country, and home-town team Barcelona rate him as a massive prospect. Left-footed, he is usually deployed as an inverted winger. Pedri lit up EURO 2020; Lamine could be the wonderkid this time.

Only Germany have participated in more EURO finals than Spain, who made it through qualification for the nation's 12th appearance at the tournament after defeating Norway 1-0 in Oslo on 15 October. De la Fuente's side will be hoping for a record-breaking fourth EURO win in Germany; they are currently level with the 2024 hosts on three triumphs.
